Sean Pertwee is Gotham 's Alfred
Sean Pertwee is the second new Alfred Pennyworth announced in the space of a fortnight. Following the news that Jeremy Irons will play Batman's butler on the big screen in Whatever Zack Snyder Calls His Caped Crusader/Man Of Steel Movie , The Hollywood Reporter reports that the son of the Third Doctor will be looking after a young Bruce Wayne in upcoming prequel TV series Gotham .

Alongside the already announced Ben McKenzie as (Future Commissioner) Jim Gordon, it's also been announced that Robin Lord Taylor will play Oswald "Penguin" Cobblepot, Zabryna Guevara will play Gordon's boss Captain Essen and Erin Richards will play Barbara Kean, a doctor engaged to Gordon.

New Star Wars Rebels Jedi Introduced
USA Today has revealed a new "cowboy" of a Jedi Knight from the upcoming Star Wars Rebels animated series, due to arrive in this particular galaxy this autumn. He's called Kanan and sounds a lot like Freddie Prinze Jr.

New Transcendence Trailer
We can't embed this one, sadly, but Apple is hosting a new trailer for Trancendence , a cyber-thriller directed by Wally Pfister, Christopher Nolan's former cinematographer of choice. Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall and Paul Bettany star, and it looks ace. It arrives in UK cinemas this April.

Bafta Games Award Nominations
With the Bafta Film Awards due to be dished out on Sunday, the videogames who'll be vying for their own freaky mask ornaments were revealed today. The phenomenal The Last Of Us leads the field with ten nominations, and other sci-fi/fantasy representatives on the list include Tearaway (eight noms), Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag , Bioshock Infinite , Super Mario 3D World (four noms apiece) and Tomb Raider (three noms). The awards will be handed out on Wednesday 12 March.
