Prometheus and Superman set pics, Oldboy remake, Harry Potter , Transformers 3 , Fringe , Stargate , Gods Behaving Badly

Prometheus Set Pics
GeekTyrant has posted two blurry, but still very intriguing, leaked photos of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus set. And very Giger they look too.

Superman Set Pics
Superman Homepage has a number of shots of the sets for Superman: Man Of Steel under construction at the film’s Plano, Illinois location. They look like they could be for a Smallville section of the film, and there’s clearly some built-in damage (or maybe just some other random small American town gets attacked at some point). Click on the image to see the full set.

Spike Lee For Oldboy ?
A site called Twitch is claiming that Spike Lee is in talks to direct the remake of Park Chan-wook’s Krean classic Oldboy . In the 2003 original, a man gets kidnapped and held in a shabby cell for 15 years without explanation. Suddenly, he’s released and given money, a cell phone and clothes and is set on a path to discover who destroyed his life so he can take revenge. Mark Protosevich ( Thor , I Am Legend ) has written the new US script. To be honest, it doesn’t sound much like a Spike Lee project to us, but stranger things have happened (Branagh doing Thor , for a start). But let’s file this under rumour for the moment. Spielberg and Will Smith were sniffing around the project late last year, but neither are attached any longer, it seems.

New Harry Potter Clip
Just in case you can’t wait for next week (although true fans who can’t wait have apparently been camping out in Trafalgar Square in preparation for the premiere already).

Transformers 3 A Record Breaker on IMAX
IMAX announced today that Transformers: Dark Of The Moon opened to a record $23.1 million in IMAX theatres worldwide: “The third film in the blockbuster Transformers franchise, posted a record opening in IMAX theatres, generating $23.1 million globally since launch. The total IMAX North American take was $14 million.”

New Character For Fringe
TVLine reports that there’s a new recurring character in the offing for season four of JJ Abrams’s Fringe : “Sources confirm that producers are casting a new recurring female character. Interested actresses should be Asian and between the age of 25 and 50.”

Could There Be More Stargate Movies?
In an interview with Collider , Roland Emmerich’s old producing partner Dean Devlin has suggested that more Stargate movies are not out of the question. According to Devlin, “The irony is that we wrote it as a trilogy of movies, but we were never able to do parts two and three. Our hope is that, now that the series is starting to wind down that maybe it'll be time to do parts two and three. So we're hopeful we’ll get to come back and tell the rest of that story… We wanted to explore how the Stargates were built originally and where else in the universe they exist, why they exist, and where else they exist on Earth.”

Cast Announced For Gods Behaving Badly
Movieline has revealed the cast for Gods Behaving Badly , the adaptation of Marie Phillips’ novel: Christopher Walken (Zeus), John Turturro (Hades), Sharon Stone (Aphrodite), Edie Falco (Artemis), Phylicia Rashad (Demeter), Nelsan Ellis (Dionysus), Gideon Glick (Eros), Henry Zebrowski (Hermes), Rosie Perez (Persephone). They join Alicia Silverstone (Kate) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Neil). And here’s the official synopsis: “The film tells the story of the Greek Gods, alive and well and living in a brownstone in New York City, as they cross paths with a young couple, Kate and Neil. The intersection of the Gods and the mortals threatens not only the couple’s budding relationship, but the future of everything else.”
