Watch Red Dead Redemption 2's second trailer and meet the new (anti) hero

The second trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 has arrived. The first trailer was all about setting and mood with only a bit of dialogue and the tiniest hints of the story - now Rockstar's letting us know what kind of a Western tale it wants to tell this time around. The short answer? A really rough one. John Marston was a (mostly) reformed scoundrel by the time we met him in the original, but new main character Arthur Morgan is still happily doing the outlaw thing.

It takes a special kind of person to take such joy in threatening a man's life. And I wish I could say it was good to see original RDR antagonist Dutch van der Linde again, but we all know how things went last time. And, er, minor spoilers, but his appearance in this trailer pretty much guarantees that Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel to the first game. Plus, the no-good dirty rustler on the left in that "walking away from a burning house" scene looks an awful lot like a young Bill Williamson (another member of Dutch's gang from RDR). I wonder if we'll run into Marston himself at some point?

We still haven't gotten a look at how the game actually plays, just a bunch of tense cutscenes and pretty vistas. But if Red Dead Redemption 2 is anything like its predecessor, it'll keep us neck-deep in shootouts and horseback heists for hours to come. Stay tuned for more on the RDR2 trailer right here on GR+.
