Warhawk download packs always seem to go down well with the fans, which is probably why Sony has decided to bundle the two big expansions into one single package.
The version 1.3 patch for Warhawk will be released today between 10am and 4pm GMT, adding new equipment and other enhancements. Between these hours, Sony will shut down the Warhawk servers for scheduled maintenance, and warns players that, while they'll be able to log into PSN and download the new patch, you won't actually be able to play until the servers are back up and running. Great time to get some CoD 4 time in, then.
Sony Computer Entertainment of Europe has dated the next Warhawk expansion pack, Operation: Broken Mirror, which will be available on PSN in the UK next month for £3.99. No word yet on a US date or price. The pack introduces a new APC vehicle and the seven new arenas of the Vaporfield Glacier, which yes, has got lots of snow in it. "The Glacier is a new Eucadian stronghold where snowy conditions blanket an intricate network of
Dec 19, 2007 Operation: Omega Dawn breaths new life into the already-lively Warhawk on PS3. For a mere $7.99, players can get in on the action, including six new map configurations, a new battlefield and the KT-424 Combat Dropship - “a supreme vehicle that can transport up to seven troopers and a ground vehicle at one time, allowing for massive invasions on enemy territories,” Sony tells us. Sony goes on to say that “The Dropship act as a multiplayer Boss character, similar
Dec 4, 2007 Warhawk expansion Omega Dawn goes live on the PlayStation Network this month, and we've got 10 screenshots from the content update right
Oct 22, 2007 Sony has revealed details of two patches it's working on for the popular multiplayer PS3 airborne shooter, Warhawk. According game director Dylan Jobe, "We've been working on a lot of fixes, server-side updates and client patches. Because let's face it, while the team and I were really happy with our launch and players around the globe were having a blast playing, there were some problems that players encountered once we rolled the game out to the masses (stats, connection
Oct 17, 2007 It's being reported that Sony and developer Incognito are planning a content download pack for the multiplayer only title, Warhawk. December is the month we're told to this could happen and the download's biggest pull is said to be a new vehicle. It's being dubbed a missile-launching, airlifting drop ship by some, but without official confirmation, we'll just have to wait and
Sept 5, 2007 Two E3s ago, when we got our first real look at Warhawk, it was intended to be an earth-shattering launch title for the PS3. Featuring a persistent, constantly ongoing war spread across a fully explorable landscape, it was going to be Grand Theft Auto in a futuristic warzone, with players able to jump into any vehicle, take on missions and fight however they saw fit. Somewhere along the way, though, it was decided that those grandiose visions wouldn't really work. In fact, any
Aug 24 2007 So, as you might know, Warhawk is due to land in downloadable form on PlayStation Network next Tuesday 28 August for £19.99. Right? Wrong! In fact, it'll be a whopping 48 hours late, only shipping out onto PS3's online service during Thursday 30 August. Here's what Sony has to say for itself: "We have just received information that the next PS Store update, which will contain Warhawk, will be Thursday 30th August and not Tuesday 28th August as previously announced. As you
Warhawk is a game every PS3 gamer should buy this September. It's a one-trick pony, for sure, being effectively an online-only game (think classic PS2 mash Twisted Metal: Black Online). But Warhawk 's one trick is so entertaining, so appealing, so much chaotic fun, that it puts to shame even the bigger names on the release schedule. In fact, having played a near finished version for several days (after blasting through the recent beta, too) we have to say we're more excited about Warhawk's
Originally posted on May 22, 2007 Months before the 2007 Electronic Entertainment Expo, Sony Computer Entertainment of America flew a small army of journalists down to its headquarters in San Diego for its Gamer's Day, a pre-E3 sneak peek at games set to arrive on its PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and PSP platforms. Featuring dozens of games from Sony and third-party publishers, several of which were unveiled and/or made playable for the first time, the event was a staggering look at a swarm
This trailer might suggest Warhawk is some kind of jovial, laughter-fueled mix of Takeshi's Castle and Battlefield 2. But don't let the jolly music confuse you. We know that Warhawk is an action-filled explosive deathmatch fest, and the gameplay footage within backs that up. The footage comes courtesy of Sony Japan, but we'd struggle to offer a reason for the oompah-oompah style soundtrack. Still, regardless of backing score, Warhawk is looking hot. Especially if it turns out to be the
Back in 2005, Warhawk began life as a tech demo designed to showcase the Sixaxis tilt function and PS3s ability to render hundreds of on-screen aircraft. Two years later, its an almost unrecognizable online Battlefield: Modern Combat tribute with extensive on-foot warfare, available as an online-only game from the PS Store. Warhawks development history might be baffling, but the concept couldnt be easier to grasp - a sign-on, blast-off massively multiplayer online war game, as two sides go
Sony's annual E3 press conference opened with what could have been the biggest reveal of the entire show if it hadn't been leaked last week: the new $499 price of the PS3, as well as the introduction of a new $599 model that comes with an 80GB hard drive and a copy of online-enabled dirt racer Motorstorm. This left biggy-wig Jack Tretton (who began the event speaking through his character in the PS3 virtual world Home) to launch right into the publisher's game-centric, four-part
Thursday 7 June 2007 Tanks, gun turrets, planes, jeeps. We love them all. Just as well then that theyre all included in the beta version of Warhawk, Sonys online multiplayer action-fest Weve been busy dog fighting with fellow beta testers for some time now, but for those of you didnt get an exclusive invite to the online party weve managed to capture some footage of the action direct from the frontline. The footage shows off both the aerial and ground based action as well the super smooth
Sony is giving US PS3 gamers the opportunity to get hands-on with Warhawk this month in a public beta set to kick off on May 24 - however, it's not currently clear whether the beta will be accessible overseas. Warhawk will be released as a download via the PlayStation Store as well as at retail on disc. A report on Shacknews says the retail version will come with a Bluetooth headset allowing you to chat in-game along with game
It appears that if Incognito has its way, there'll be an opportunity to play its PS3 game Warhawk before full release via an open beta and a demo. Dropping hints in this regard in a recent interview with Game Informer, the developer's Dylan Jobe teased, "What I can say is this: We are firm believers in demos and betas and stuff like that. We believe that we want to get feedback from our players and we want to give them the opportunity for them to play the game, because we're really excited
