WALL-E picks up PGA award

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) has doled out its annual gongs, and WALL-E walks - or perhaps trundles - away with the award for best animated film. The ceremony was held yesterday at the Hollywood Palladium.

The Dark Knight and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button were the SF nominations for best film, but they were gazumped by Slumdog Millionaire.

The PGA award - note, nothing to do with the professional golf body - is often considered an indicator for success at the Oscars because many of its members are also in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Thanks Aunty Beeb .
