The Walking Dead: Episode One Guide

Epilogue

When you watch the “On the Next Walking Dead”, it will give glimpses of things that will happen in the next episode and will show that there are moments based on the decisions that you made during this episode. Below are two different versions; the first having Doug still alive, Katjaa thanking you for saving Duck at the farm, and Kenny giving you hell about not siding with him about Duck in the drug store. The second shows Carley still alive, Katjaa telling you not to repeat your mistakes at Hershel’s farm, and Lilly tearing you a new one about not siding with Larry in the drug store.

I've been gaming practically my whole life, and The Walking Dead has proven to be one of the best gaming experiences of my life thus far. Sure, the gameplay was simplistic and the choices could have had a larger impact on the outcome but the story was excellent and the gameplay worked well enough to drive it along. I wish more games were of this caliber, and I can only hope that Telltale will take what they've learned from this season to make the next one even better.

So, it doesn't really seem like any of the decisions made in Episode 1 really effect much during that episode. I know they SAID that the decisions will span all the episodes, but I'm skeptical as that's a pretty bold promise. Will have to see how Episodes 2 and 3 fare before deciding on this one.

I don't think they really intended to, as the first episode is effectively the prologue. I won't go into detail for the benefit of not leaving spoilers, but there's an incident early on in which, although you have a choice, you cannot change the outcome. But, that's because the outcome is a very important story arc for the comics, so that's understandable. The choice made towards the end of the episode will have a minor shape (who knows, maybe on a larger scale) as to how the story develops later on but that's what made me hungry for more as it ended Trust me on one thing, if you've read any of the comics, not necessarily up to date, and enjoyed them then this is a must buy

Thanks for the reply! I realize my comment is short-sighted and won't be fleshed out until the finale - I'm just impatient and have a hard time buying a "season" up-front :) But I DID enjoy the demo, if I had more time to play games I would probably pick this up.
