Vote For Victory?

And you could force Irish TV to make some more science fiction

Vote For Victory? and you could help to force RTE, the Irish state television station, to make a sci-fi series. And even if you don’t live in Ireland, you can watch the first episode and vote anyway, just for a show of sci-fi solidarity.

Y’see, Victory? is a low budget film made by SFX forumite John Vaughn (or johnone as he’s known on the forum) and entered as part of RTE’s Storyland competition.

As John explains, “ Storyland is a competition where eight different shows are given a six-minute pilot on the RTE website which are shown from the 13 to the 19 of February. Viewers vote on the shows and the two shows with the least votes are eliminated and the remaining six shows are allowed to make episode two. There’s another vote then four shows are allowed to make episode three. Another vote, and the final two shows remaining then make a fourth and final episode, with the winner possibly getting the option to make a full series. In Storyland ’s three year history, two shows have gone on to become hit series.”

So, of course, John wants you to vote for Victory? , and so do we – we always like a show with dirty great spaceships looming ominously over cities! Come on guys, let’s force RTE to fund more sci-fi. They won’t know what’s hit them.

Watch the first episode of Victory? here – then cast your vote!
