Vince Vaughn has entered talks to join Ben Stiller’s high-concept sci-fi comedy Neighborhood Watch .

The film’s been stumbling along in a drawn-out pre-production for a while, and takes Stiller into sci-fi terrain – a landscape he’s hardly visited in his career thus far.

Watch follows a group of dads who use the neighbourhood surveillance scheme to get away from their families. However, they have to step up when they uncover a plot to destroy the world.

The script comes from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who’ve got proven credentials in the ‘male bonding comedy’ realm.

Vaughn and Stiller previously worked together on Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story , and have made cameos in each others’ movies for as long as we can remember.

The chance to see them paired-up as leads is definitely one of Neighborhood Watch ’s biggest selling points.
