Vin Diesel says Fast & Furious 7 will win Best Picture at the Oscars

Early screening reactions to Fast & Furious 7 have been extremely positive across the board, but Vin Diesel has taken things one step further by predicting Oscar glory for the film.

"Universal is going to have the biggest movie in history with this movie," Diesel told Variety. "It will probably win best picture at the Oscars, unless the Oscars don’t want to be relevant ever."

Lovely bit of reverse psychology from Diesel there. However, he went one step further, going as far as to name the sequel as a shoo-in for next year's Best Picture.

"This will win Best Picture," said Diesel, laying all his cards on the table. "There is nothing that will ever come close to the power of this thing."

So there you have it - the race is as good as won! Find out whether you agree with Diesel's appraisal by checking out the film when it lands in the US and UK on 3 April 2015.
