The Robotnik one is pretty classy. The Che Goomba one reminds me of the flash animation The People's Mario for some reason (http://88by31.com/flashman/thepeoplesmario.swf)

Goos article, but I think they're were a little abstract for the purpose. Some lacked punch. Nice idea though.

It's set in the future, when a man's children ask him what he did in the war. He's ashamed because he shirked his responsibility and didn't enrol in the army. The idea being, if you enrol and fight you'll never feel that shame. Pretty clever, really!
