Venice Film Festival line-up announced

The 57 films screening at the 64th Venice Film Festival have been announced and it looks to be one of the strongest yet.

Wes Anderson's eagerly anticipated The Darjeeling Limited will be in competition, as will Andrew Dominik's The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, and Todd Haynes' twisted Bob Dylan biopic, I'm Not There. Predictably enough, many of the films screening have a war-torn flavour - with Brian De Palma's Iraq-set Redacted joining Ang Lee's World War II thriller Se, Jie (Lust, Caution).

The Brits are out in force too, with Kenneth Branagh's Sleuth, Joe Wright's Atonement, Alex Cox's Searchers 2.0 and Ken Loach's It's A Free World all hitting Venetian screens.

The Festival runs from 29 August to September 8 and you can count on Total Film to be there.
