Valkyria Chronicles lives again with games both old and new coming to PS4

A new Valkyria Chronicles game for PS4 is in development at Sega, according to the newest issue of Famitsu. A remaster of the original Valkyria Chronicles is also in the works, though neither game has been given a release date or localization plans.

The series, which mashes WWII-inspired aesthetics and story with tactical turn-based gameplay (think Hogs of War, Codename: STEAM, etc), hasn't seen a new entry since 2011's Valkyria Chronicles 3. Unfortunately for fans, that game was a PSP-only, Japan-only prequel to Valkyria Chronicles 2 - also for the PSP. Assuming the new Valkyria Chronicles comes out in 2016, it'll be the first in the series seen on a home console in eight years.

Famitsu will hit shelves on November 19. Hopefully we'll find out more then.
