It doesn't really matter how long you've been gaming - you know who Sonic the Hedgehog is. Ever since his first appearance on the Sega Genesis in 1991, the hyperactive hedgehog has consistently been one of the most popular characters in video game history. To honor his longevity, SEGA's trumpeting its new, next-gen Sonic the Hedgehog game, due later this year, as well as an enhanced remake of the original Genesis game, only for Game Boy Advance. The new version will incorporate Sonic's spin dash move from Sonic 2 and a brand new save feature into the main game. The best part? It'll hit for $20.

Not one to be left out, Sony's PSP will also feel the love with Sonic Rivals, a more traditional footrace that has you racing against Knuckles, Shadow and who knows what other classic characters. Finally, the still-unnamed (but now known as Wild Fire) Wii title is due out sometime in 2007.
So no matter how much Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Riders hurt our souls, there's plenty to keep a look out for. To read up on everything Sonic, just follow the links below.
