PS3 reserves = tomorrow

Sleuths over atNeoGAFhave sussed out that GameStop/EB Games is opening preorders for the PlayStation 3 tomorrow, when stores open. Want a system? Better hustle over to your local shop before it opens tomorrow. Word on the street is that each store will get eight... but will allow employees to buy two of them. So six it is. Better go to bed early tonight.

Get a 360 for cheap! Or don't! Or do!

Well, if you don't want a PS3...

The Consumeristposted a spiffy deal, courtesty of Fry's, this weekend. Online, the store was briefly offering an Xbox 360 Premium Pack with Dead Rising, Test Drive Unlimited and Saints Row for $359.96 - 360 bucks. Get it?

Then it went down.

But according to The Consumerist, the reason it went down isn't because it's a pricing error - but because Microsoft didn't want to see it go up just yet. The bundle will be available Thursday, Friday or Saturday, pending permission. So keep your eyes onFry's...

Wii leaks out early

According to photos of the Best Buy inventory system, the massive electronics chain is going to be getting its Wii shipments on October 29,Kotaku reports. The street date of the Wii is November 19, so that's well in advance. People are speculating this means that the launch date has been pushed up... but we kind of doubt it. More likely, Nintendo's just doing better at getting its shit together for a launch than Sony and MS have. After all, the company wants you to be able to go into a store and buy a Wii... an even more serious problem, we expect, for the PS3 than it was for the 360 last year.

Now's the time to make a friend in the Best Buy stockroom...

Xfired up for WOW

World of Warcraft has gone beyond a simple game into an all-encompassing (and frankly, irritating) lifestyle for many of its fans. So it's no surprise that the people behindXfire, a third party gaming chat program, support the game with automatic patch downloads and voice chat. But Xfire is also throwing acontestfor the best machinima movie made using the game's graphics. Want to watch the entries and vote? Head over to the official website. Only Xfire members are welcome to watch the movies, so you're going to have to cough up some personal info if you want to see them... or just wait till somebody ganks 'em and throws 'em up on YouTube.
