UK trailer for awards favourite The Sessions: watch now

The Sessions won us over at this year’s Sundance Film Festival , so we’re eagerly awaiting its UK release (and tipping it for plenty of recognition comes awards season).

Now you can get a flavour of the film with the release of the UK trailer, which you can watch below.

Handling delicate subject matter with heart and humour, The Sessions (formerly The Surrogate ) is a damn sight funnier than you might expect, as it tells the based-on-fact story of journalist Mark O’Brien, paralysed by polio, who hires a surrogate to help him fulfil his ambition of losing his virginity.

John Hawkes stars as O’Brien, and he’s guaranteed to add another Oscar nom to his CV. Could he go the distance and actually bag the trophy?

Helen Hunt and William H Macy provide the support.

An artsy new poster has also been unveiled (and we're a little unsure as to what that squirty pencil's supposed to symbolise):

The Sessions opens in the UK on 18 January 2013.
