Turning Point: Fall of Liberty update

Award-winning music composer Michael Giacchino, whose credits include TV biggies Lost and Alias and the Medal of Honor and Call of Duty series, is to score Turning Point: Fall of Liberty.

Turning Point: Fall of Liberty is an alternate-reality WWII FPS in development at Spark Unlimited that we first revealed in April.

So the game's storyline goes, the Nazis have achieved victory in the war and subsequently overrun the US, with the opening scene throwing you right into the heart of the Germans' surprise attack on New York.

Rather than strapping on combat boots as a soldier, you play an average citizen whose main objective is to survive the conflict.

Michael Giacchino, who has actually worked with Spark Unlimited previously on the Call of Duty series, says he loves working with the developer "because they're a group that's focused on fusing innovation, quality and narrative into an intensity of game experience very few can create."

"For this game, we've taken an interesting approach that will allow the score to be more unique and emotionally personal to the player," Giacchino added.

Scott Langteau, COO of Spark Unlimited, has explained, "Together with Michael, we have developed a system that will evoke mood, setting, and emotional involvement with a dynamic structure to deliver musically on Turning Point's themes: the dissonance of an occupied state, the chaos that comes from resisting an unstoppable oppressing army, and the heroic feeling of making a difference as an individual."

Turning Point: Fall of Liberty is one of Codemasters' major 2007 releases and is currently due at the end of the year on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
