The Big Bang Theory (an official nearly- SFX show ) was the big winner at the American Television Critics’ Choice Awards last night, nabbing Best Comedy, Best Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series (Kaley Cuoco) and Best Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series (Simon Helberg). But two other telefantasy shows also won gongs: American Horror Story: Asylum (Best Supporting Actor in a Movie/Miniseries for Zachary Quinto and Best Supporting Actress in a Movie/Miniseries for Sarah Paulson) and Orphan Black ( Best Actress in a Drama Series for Tatiana Maslany). Falling Skies season three, meanwhile, debuted in the US with 4.2 million viewers on TNT, slightly less than its season two premiere, but quite a bit up on the season two finale (3.84 million). So the sky’s not falling yet…

Big Finish has has its license to make Doctor Who audio adventures extended until December 2016. Hurrah. Line producer David Richardson teases: “We have so many more tales to tell with the first eight Doctors and their companions. We can promise that 2016 will see more of your favourite ranges – plus maybe a brand new range or two that will surprise and delight.
