Troy Duffy directs Boondock Saints II

Egomaniac bartender-turned-director Troy Duffy is shooting a sequel to the infamous B-movie actioner that took from him from zero to hero to zero.

Back in 1997, Harvey Weinstein walked into Duffy’s bar and gave him $15 million to direct his debut script and even produce the soundtrack with is band The Brood.

But, as chronicled in ace documentary Overnight, Duffy self-destructed - blowing Weinstein’s cash and his own film career.

Resurrected

Amazingly, he’s back to direct his own script, The Boondock Saints II: All Saint’s Day.

Bill Connolly, Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus all reprise their roles, the latter two playing a crusading fraternal twins Connor and Murphy MacManus, chasing revenge in the Boston underworld.

“It’s a joy and a long time coming to be bringing such an enormously talented group of people back together again,” says Duffy.

Harvey Weinstein, strangely, is not producing.
