Okay, so first of all we confess this looks exciting, but not how we pictured Riverworld. We're huge fans of To Your Scattered Bodies Go and the following four novels (although Scattered Bodies is the best) and this appears to deviate considerably from Philip José Farmer's original plot and characters. The movie stars Tahmoh Penikett (BSG, Dollhouse) as an American war reporter, killed along with his girlfriend (Smallville's Laura Vandervoort) by a suicide bomber - they wake up on a mysterious planet where everyone who's ever lived is reborn along the banks of a river.
Screenwriter Robert Hewitt Wolfe told SCI FI Wire that if people like the upcoming feature-length movie, it could go to a series. What do you reckon? Will it be more successful than the 2003 attempt? Thoughts welcome...
