Trailer Trash #3

Saints Row 2 - The women of DLC

Uncle Gary serves up another heaping plate of skeezy in this trailer for Saints Row 2 DLC. We prefer to remember Classic Busey, the one from Psychos ‘R’ Us.

The Conduit - Story trailer

Okay, to be fair, the story-based trailer for Sega/High Voltage’s The Conduit is pretty damn impressive. We’ve been anticipating the third-party Wii shooter for quite a while, yet the first few trailers were sloppy by comparison. This time, we get a rapid dose of exposition through blisteringly quick cuts and enough wham-bam gameplay to make us go “Oh damnnnn.” Watch that part where he says “It’s time to go to work” while the main character cocks his gun. That is – dare we say – cinematic. Seriously, with all those title cards intercutting the action, the game appears to have been directed by Michael Bay and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
“How can mankind fight a war the enemy has already won?” That’s the kind of quote summer blockbusters have wet dreams about. Cue chorus rise and whoosh! Gunshots! Whoosh! Explosions! Whoosh! Awesome. Now where the hell is Nic Cage all glossy-eyed saying, “We have to save you, Mr. President.”
For a heaping dose of Michael Bayness, we suggest you check out how awesome his next project is shaping up:

Let's Tap - Party trailer

Ironically, babies often prefer the box a toy came in to the toy itself. Knowing this can save you lots of money.

Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper - Trailer

This one is particularly interesting in light of yesterday’s revelations about the Zodiac killer. The trailer, however, fails to show us what you’ll actually be doing in the game for, you know, gameplay. It looks like you commit a crime as Jack, then try to solve it as Sherlock. That’s like playing as both the Lakers and the Celtics. Does not compute!

SwampRock, seriously dude did you even watch the damn trailer? What the hell is "clunky" looking about the controls? The way he moves and attacks is exactly the opposite of clunky, it's one of the main reasons it looks so damn good because it looks so smooth. How the hell can controls even look "clunky" when you weren't controlling it? Also they look realistic, which is the HUGE problem prototype has in my oppinion, none of that games moves or scenes for that matter even look real, if you want to call that "stylized" then fine, but I call it looking like crap, and just plain messy. Sorry for spazzing out lol , but damn man watch the trailer at least.
  • SwampRock - May 4, 2009 9:28 p.m.

Infamous looks like total crap. The controls look clunky as opposed to prototype where all the actions look stylized and smooth, whereas this trailer, I get the impression of Niko bellic for some reason. And the action looks quite sparse for infamous

Lets Tap made fiery horror erupt out of each and every oriface on my body, including my pores. Coincidentally, Gary Busey and his descendants should be removed from the gene pool for the sake of the human race.

InFamous looks incredibly boring, blue electricity from hands = sh*t game
  • Skykid - May 1, 2009 8:58 p.m.

The InFamous trailer was badass. Remided me of Force Unleashed, which is just as badass as this. Battlestations could be a bit better on the selling point though. Looking forward to Bad Company 2, which will be so sweeeeet.
  • Yossarian - May 1, 2009 6:11 p.m.

Battlestations confuses me. Isn't the point of most games to stay ALIVE? Historical accuracy is good and all, but I don't see flying a kamikaze mission as a good selling point. I can kill myself in plenty of other, and most likely better, games.
  • iKOemos - May 1, 2009 4:12 a.m.

Hey gmilf17, u gonna throw a spaz again? These trailers suck. These games are doomed to die.
  • MissingLink101 - May 1, 2009 2:02 a.m.

They've really made an awesome trailer for infamous but if I'm gonna get the new version of the (last succesful incarnation) Crackdown idea, I'll be heading for Prototype.
  • crabbo - May 1, 2009 1:28 a.m.

Speaking as somebody who owns a PS3, I think the inFamous trailer looks pretty bland. The combat looks really uninspired. Other trailers showcase the urban explorer aspect, which makes the game look much more appealing. Face it.. The combat isn't going to be inFamous' strong point.

  • nadrewod999 - May 2, 2009 3:57 p.m.

GamesRadar, I look forward to seeing how you review a game while eating your hat (hint: read end of last page of article).
  • Jedipimp0712 - May 1, 2009 9:25 p.m.

what the fuck is the point of the Kamikazi game? i dont know if its just me, but does that seem REALLY un-patriotic or what? and when you do run into an American boat, what the fuck is that accomplishing? also, that Infamous trailer does look amazing, is there something that games radar is holding out on us for what the gameplay is like? cuz i thought it looked bad ass
  • wolfwing187 - May 1, 2009 5:24 p.m.

i play free realms.....i think its cool.
  • Howetzer - May 1, 2009 1:09 p.m.

Man, I can't wait for InFamous! I don't know how you guys can't be anything but completely psyched about InFamous! That trailer is just like all the other InFamous trailers, friggen Awesome! As for prototype, good luck to all of you who buy it, but sorry looks like complete junk to me, if you have a PS3 I think you should at least do yourselves the favor of getting InFamous, the game is 10 times what protocrap is....see what I did there kids? lol Anyways nice article, but I personally don't see InFamous fitting in to the trailer trash section myself.
