Total Recall launches new viral website

Total Recall , Len Wiseman's remake of the 1990 sci-fi classic, has launched a new viral website for the Rekall, the company offering virtual vacations via memory implants.

Sporting a tag-line offering the chance to, "escape from your world to ours," the site offers users a chance to enter their telephone number for more information about the company's "vacation packages".

"Come to Rekall for a memory of a lifetime," says the site. Entering your phone number will result in a call from a recorded message, serving up some more info about the services offered. Sadly, it's US numbers only at this point, but hopefully that will soon change.

Inputting a number also prompts the following response on the site: "Thank you for entering your phone number. A representative will call you when your vacation package is available. Rekall, we can remember it for you."

That last bit is a nice little nod to the original Philip K Dick story upon which Total Recall was based, which was entitled We Can Remember It For You Wholesale . The remake will open in UK cinemas on 22 August 2012. In the meantime you can take a look at a shiny new banner for the film, below...
