3. Thieves' Landing (Red Dead Redemption)
If you can't guess this one's a bad place just from the name, never visit--they'll take you for all you're worth. Thieves' Landing is exactly what it sounds like: a hitching post for criminals, from groups like the Bollard Twins Gang to run-of-the-mill troublemakers. And friend, you better watch yourself, because there ain't no sheriff 'round these parts.
Playing up the lawless Wild West theme, any and all crime is permitted in Thieves' Landing. For instance, John won't garner a bounty for committing theft or murder, and if he has hero status the townsfolk will actively attack him. Vigilante justice is the only justice, and it isn't unusual to see the corpse of a fool that cheated at cards laying around. On the other hand, being a bad guy has its perks around here: if John's dishonorable ranking is high, the residents offer him good business, buying provisions for double and selling him items for half. Yup, 'round here, it pays to be an outlaw.
