Excellent article, Coop. Very insightful and entertaining. Keep it up

Uh... well, Silph Co is only really a monopoly in Kanto and Johto. Those are basically provinces in a larger country. As mentioned before, Devon Co has a lock o Hoenn, while I always thought that Unova and Sinnoh just had an unnamed corporation acting as monopoly, or even *gasp* a competitive economy.

Great article, loved the bit about Missingno. Keep doing what you do Cooper, I love it.

Right, but what I meant is as the series go on more things that weren't Pokemon are being turned into Pokemon, which means that there's an unknown number of inorganic things that are secretly Pokemon.

You forgot to add in the legendary section that you can capture what literally amounts to the "God" of the Pokemon world. I can't remember its name at the moment, but I'm pretty damn sure its the big capital-G.

Just because we don't see animals doesn't mean they don't exist. That one is getting rather tired, and I mean, how do they label Pokemon the "bug pokemon" or "fish" if those don't exist outside of Pokemon? So of course there have to be normal animals.

It is disturbing in the sense that there are unknown threats, but I've always been under the impression that, when new pokemon are added, Gamefreak have made it so that the new pokemon have always been known about, (with some being common in some regions, etc) despite professors sending players out to find them. I generally don't know for sure, though. Though regardless, even if every species is known, there is always going to be paranoia when you can be attacked by the alphabet, balloons and a creature that can literally become anything.

I've definitely read this article with the same entries before.

Yup Arcues created sinnoh at the very least maybe even the whole universe.
  • SomeOddGuy - April 2, 2012 2:14 p.m.

I do believe you're referring to Arceus, whose description tells of it creating practically everything in existence. Hard to imagine how powerful legendaries have gotten since the original saga.

this was awesome i was crackin up so much

That's not really guaranteed. Otherwise you'd have an explanation for actual Dragons. When a pokemon is compared to an animal, it is done in such a way so that all players understand what they're roughly looking at, not really to suggest that there are plain old fish. (See the almighty Magikarp for instance.) There may be animals, but I don't think there are, simply because they would be pointless and there is almost no point for them, regardless of evidence of their existence. (In other words, even if someone in a game says "Did you see those Lions? They were holding the TM ROAR", I'll assume they're talking about aliens) However, I can't say the same for plants. There certainly is plain old grass.

He's right about that one.^ But are they really a competitor, or is this like comparing Wal-Mart to your local general store?
  • robotdickens - April 2, 2012 2:58 p.m.

I think the fact that the whole entire game is based upon "befriending" ancient creatures with incredible powers and then beating them up, throwing a ball at them, taking them away from their families so I can pit them against another person who's done the same thing to a poor little creature... Can't wait for the new Pokemon game! hahaha

Fantastic Top 7, Coop. Great Job!
  • BladedFalcon - April 2, 2012 3:25 p.m.

Not to mention Cubone, who wears the skull of it's deceased mother or parent... Also, i don't remember where, but I am pretty sure someone made a picture or list of pokemon that according to their pokedex entires, could do things that break the law of current physics as we know them XD
  • BladedFalcon - April 2, 2012 3:29 p.m.

'sides, if he hadn't used pics from the show, we would have missed that hilariously pervy image of lickitung being dangerously close to Jessie's... Yeah.
  • shawksta - April 2, 2012 3:40 p.m.

Exactly and as Cooper stated about yamask's mask being the face of the person who died. I know exactly what your talking about but my minds blank right now, some pokemons descriptions are just ridiculous.
  • winner2 - April 2, 2012 3:41 p.m.

The ghost one with the face seems pretty messed up now that you mention it. Pitting dead peoples' spirits against each other for fun.
  • space_cakes - April 2, 2012 3:47 p.m.

Most disturbing thing: it was a little boy's dream all along. This is all his messed up subconscious! http://www.aussie-nintendo.com/forum/showthread.php/14451-The-Pokemon-Comatose-Theory.
