I still love Republic Commando. Great list, though.

WTH? Where are Super Star Wars (or Super Empire Strikes Back which was my fave) and Masters Of Teras Kaasi? Ok, joking about Teras Krappies, but seriously, those SNES Star Wars games were awesome action/platformers in their day, with cutting edge graphics and sound/music. Also, KOTOR II > KOTOR.

@BoneFox: I agree. TFU got middling to lousy reviews, but I don't think I have ever had more fun playing a Star Wars game. They should have just dispensed with the pretense and called it God of Star Wars.

I would have liked to see Star Wars: The Force unleashed on here. It could have replaced something im sure of it. ReCaptcha: HERE'S coolende

Not sure why GamesRadar has such a passion with the LEGO games. LEGO Star wars was not really that good. It was okay at best.

TIE Fighter is not just the best Star Wars game, but one of my favorite games of all time. It was complicated but not incomprehensible, fun as hell to play as the bad guys (who strongly believed they were doing good!), and the multiple levels of objectives meant that you could play as much or as little as you wanted. My only complaint is that the game seemed to lose its nerve about five battles in, and became primarily a battle against Imperial traitors instead of Rebel terrorists. Force Unleashed did the same thing; I personally think the game should have ran with the "kill Vader and take his place" ending.

One time in Battlefront 2 I was using the mod that allowed you to play as Anakin and Obi in a space battle and be able to use their specific spacefighters. I went as Obi or Anakin and I remember I flew into the enemy hanger, skidded across the floor of the hanger, jumped out of my ship and flipped in the air, ignited my lightsaber and started killin' droids. Was just like the opening scene of Episode 3. :).

I feel really guilty about saying this, but I just can't bring myself to play PC games from like 10 years ago, unless it is one that I played already (which is rare for me). I mean, I played X-Wing/TIE Fighter OF COURSE, because it was the greatest thing for me at the time of its original release, but I had a terrible computer when these early 2000-titles were popping up. I only recently got Battlefront II during a Steam sale and I LOVED it, but I still find myself passing up all the other titles like Jedi Knight and Dark Forces. It's just really awkward for me to have a fresh experience with unintentionally dated graphics (as opposed to retro titles like Bit.Trip Runner and such), though it seems this mostly applies to PC games for me.

My love for Battle Front 2 knows no bounds!

Shame that Republic Commando isn't on the list, but in my eyes, this list is pretty much perfect. Nice one as usual, GR!

I really need to play kotor....
  • tichtat - December 21, 2011 7:16 p.m.

I got KOTOR 2. Turns out my computer is too crap to run it. THAT is degrading.
  • JachAnen - December 23, 2011 4:05 a.m.

Had the same problem with KotOR II. Turns out my soundcard is too advanced for the game to work together. So if I wan't to play it, I have to turn the sound off in the settings to the game. Really sucks to play a SW game with no sound effects :(

Out of all these comments i cant believe im the first to mention Star Wars: Starfighter on the PS2. I really loved that game. But other than that, i mostly agree. Though I havent played any of the PC only titles.
  • GhostNappa2k10 - December 20, 2011 12:10 p.m.

Starfighter was amazing! I used to spend hours at a time, playing that game :D
  • mikeylawson - December 20, 2011 2:58 a.m.

Jedi Academy was always closer to my heart than Outcast. I think it was the fact you had the customisation options you never had in Outcast.
  • jmcgrotty - December 20, 2011 2:12 a.m.

I know that sometimes these lists come down to an opinion, but I also know that sometimes the facts are too obvious that, even an opinion can be wrong. That is the case here. The true #1 answer is the 1983 arcade version of Star Wars. It's just not even something that can be rationally disagreed with. And in the bigger picture, I would have liked to see the 1984 Return Of The Jedi arcade game make an appearance.
