Top 10 Square Enix Couples

Sora + Riku (Kingdom Hearts series, PS2/GameBoy Advance)

Who they are: Two best friends who grew up together and later became enemies and then best friends again.

Hold it - before you start complaining about GamesRadar’s overactive gaydar, consider the following evidence for the Sora-Riku connection:

Exhibit 1: Sora talks Riku out of breaking up with him.

Riku: Sora… I can’t…
Sora: Don’t say another word! It’s not over. It’s just not.
Riku: How can you say that? Even if we could go on… look where we are.

Sora: Aw, come on Riku. You’ve been hanging out in Darkness too long. You gotta try and think positive!
Riku: Sora?
Sora: Hm?

Riku: You lead.
Sora: Got it.

Exhibit 2: Numbers don’t lie.

Google "Sora x Riku" and just count how many hits you get (we got 531,000 on the first try). Can that many fangirls be wrong?

If those aren’t enough to convince you, we call special witness Scott Ramsoomair of VG Cats to the stand with the following dramatization:

Why they're the best: What’s more romantic than best friends finding true love when they search for each other?

What they teach us: A real friend still loves you even after you turn evil and try to kill them.

About Final Fantasy VIII: Rinoa and Seifer were not boyfriends, only had a relationship purely business. Rinoa was confused about her feelings (as Quistis to Squall) and that's why she THOUGHT loved Seifer. Rinoa in the game NEVER says and ensures that Seifer was her boyfriend.

Didn't Squall go all the way into outer space and save Rinoa just to hand her over to the authorities in order to save her again?

Wow, how nostalgic. I remember playing FFVIII as a kid, it was the first game for my first system. Too bad I never beat the final boss, and now the game is bugged on the second disk (>.<). Guess I'll never beat it now. Also, that was a great ending. I don't know if it was all the extra time I put in it (damn level grind), but that has to be the best game ending I've ever seen (which isn't saying much for every game I've played between that one and now). BTW-- How can this article have no comments?!?! Seriously, two years and nothing? Well, guess I just fixed that problem.
