Tokyo Game Show is in full swing and sprinkling juicy drops of gaming news around the world. We've collected the tastiest ones in a bucket and poured them out all over this very internet page for your consumption. Just don't let anyone see you licking the screen.
Capcom has announced a new, 360-exclusive Dead Rising 2 spin-off to complement Case Zero, which is currently enjoying huge success on Xbox Live. The new 'Case West' will be an epilogue to the events of Dead Rising 2 and sees the return of the original game's protagonist, Frank West. He's covered wars, you know.
Expect the cost to be as wallet-friendly as Case Zero's 500MS Points when it hits the online service in the not-too-distant future.
Also of note is the news that Capcom has bought the co-creator of Dead Rising 2, Blue Castle Games. So... Dead Rising 3 for 2013, anyone?
Also from Capcom comes a brand new IP - Asura's Wrath. Developed by CyberConnect2 of .hack fame, the 'game' will be a serialised drama built using Unreal Engine 3. The game's director said: "What we're bringing to this game is a brand new style that will have you questioning whether or not you're even playing a game ... sometimes even we're confused if what we're making is a game." So not arty farty at all then.
Above: Asura's Wrath. We're not sure if that's Asura, but he looks pretty angry at being impaled 14 times
The... whatever-it-is is headed to PS3 and Xbox 360. More screenshots can be found on CVG here.
As we had suspected for a while, Capcom showed us its new Devil May Cry game - DmC. The game has been extensively Westernised (which makes TGS a rather ironic place to announce it), going as far as turning lead man Dante from emo-goth into street punk. We weren't too attached to him... I mean, it's not like he's Cole MacGrath or anything. Take a look at the new Dante, who looks a bit beat up to be honest:
Ninja Theory is in charge of development duties, who are best known for PS3-exclusive Heavenly Sword. These days they're multiplatform and also making Enslaved, so we look forward to seeing how they've tackled DMC. Apart from making the 'M' an 'm'. Check out the first trailer here:
On the next page... The Last Guardian, Valkyria Chronicles 3 and more new announcements...
