Tim Robbins has been cast in the forthcoming Green Lantern movie.
Robbins will be playing the role of Senator Hammond, ex-astronaut and disapproving father of Dr Hector Hammond (played by Peter Sarsgaard) the film's psychic villain.
Slowly the film is beginning to take shape, and director Martin Campbell (of Casino Royale fame), clearly felt Robbins could provide an experienced, Oscar-winning head to the billing of the hotly anticipated comic adaptation.
So far so good. Hopefully Green Lantern is going to be the next comic book sleeper hit, just like Iron Man was in 2008 - sneaking in under the radar, while Spidey and Bats grab the Hollywood limelight.
How do you feel about the way the film is shaping up? Let us know...
