Thor video: Full Access Playthrough

Fresh from the theater (mostly) enjoying the new Thor movie, we decided to fire up the latest Sega/Marvel tie-in game to see if it was as bad as the reviews claim. To our complete non-surprise, this Wii version is immensely mediocre (as are the 360/PS3 versions), making the DS game the Thor experience of choice. But there's still some fun to be had simply by playing the first level of this hopelessly last-gen game - hop in and watch along with us!

You could totally Emmitt Smith your way through that entire game. Just juke past ever enemy and push through to the boss.

"Aaand terrible..." Rated R for repetitive
  • MonkeyTheDwarf - May 10, 2011 8:09 p.m.

It doesn't look like it's a bad game. Not to me at least.

This game does look very boring, but it's really interesting how it's actually not that bad of a game. This is a problem I've been having with most games nowadays. The truly amazing AAA games have raised the bar so high that otherwise decent games will just feel lacking. Also, even some AAA games will need to find ways to make themselves truly distinct, otherwise I have a difficult time enjoying them. Killzone 2 and 3 were the clearest cases of this for me. The games were technically great, but the story, setting, and art direction were so generic and boring that I just couldn't stay interested in them.

    That game looks mighty boring.

One of the best FAP videos yet, game looks awful

I like how Thor keeps having to do "feats of strength", you know, because he celebrates Festivus.
  • Bluefox - May 10, 2011 9:24 a.m.

This is one of my favorite reviews ever!

I dont know why but started to laugh really hard when he said "never forget" as the building was falling?

Awesome video, FAPs continue to make me laugh, well done by all.
  • garfunkling - May 10, 2011 6:19 a.m.

smash...smash....conclude. This game looks painfully generic. Love the commentary though. More of the same!
  • Robusken - May 10, 2011 4:53 a.m.

And thats probably the only gameplay of Thor I'm going to be enjoying. Awesome job guys.
  • Wimjet - May 10, 2011 4:36 a.m.

It would have been cool if you guys included a fap version of the 360/PS3 version of this for comparison.

Maybe it's just me, but that icon next to the health meter looks a little like a Triforce. Also, if the controls "give you lots of options, but the game is still repetitive + boring", how much worse is it than the DS one? reCAPTCHA: urovir contra

I like to watch you fap ;) Faps are my favorite thing on gamesradar, keep it up. (twss)
  • CaptCOMMANDO - May 10, 2011 2:31 a.m.

FAP's are like a little Rifftrax for video games. Or a Small "Let's Play". Except actually interesting, and with personalities you'll enjoy. Take that as you will. Keep up the FAP's GR. Much Love.

    Oh man, that looked awful.
