Mankind’s bid to flee the Cylon tyranny isn’t coming to an end any time soon, as the SCI FI Channel has confirmed Battlestar Galactica will be getting a much deserved fourth season. Viewing figures dipped before Christmas, but the show’s new Sunday night slot has seen ratings climb enough to prompt the network to sign on the dotted line for 13 new episodes. Shooting will kick off in the summer, ahead of a likely January 2008 debut.
"While we never had any doubt that SCI FI would get behind a fourth season of Battlestar , it's thrilling to finally make it official, and for Ron [D Moore] and I to continue using this great genre to investigate the darker corners of society, politics and humanity," said executive producer David Eick. Frankly, we can't wait.
