The Wildest Dream review

Seventy-five years after George Mallory disappeared while attempting Everest, his body was found by fellow mountaineer Conrad Anker, who later retraced Mallory’s ill-fated footsteps.

Anthony Geffen’s gripping doc combines archive photos, dramatised footage and Liam Neeson’s dulcet tones to re-enact Mallory’s story alongside Anker’s modern-day voyage.

Sequences in Everest’s ‘death zone’ are agonisingly tense, while insightful talking-head segments add context without dampening action.

You’ll be sweaty-palmed and mildly nauseous – in the very best way
