The warriors of Tekken 6

Ling Xiaoyu

Xiaoyu (you remember her, she has a panda bear for a bodyguard) has entered the latest tournament to keep Jin from killing Heihachi. We don’t know why and we’re pretty sure it’ll be the last thing you think of when selecting a character from Tekken 6’s title screen. Here’s what you need to know: Xiaoyu’s a hell of a playable character and her CG ending movie won’t make a lick of sense no matter how cute it will be.

Hwoarang

This brooding, chap-wearing (remember how important fashion is) fighter defeated Jin in Part 5. But then Jin grew devil wings and screamed really loud. Next thing you know, Hwo wakes up in a hospital. Upon release, he trains extra hard for this year’s tournament… so he could defeat Jin again. Dude, give it up. You already beat him. That’s old news and you need to let go.

Paul Phoenix

Paul’s fallen on hard times. He defeated Kuma (another bear) in the last tournament, only to fall into debt. We can empathize with Paul because of the way the economy is right now, so we can’t really blame him for signing up for this year’s tournament. You gotta do whatever you can to pay the bills, ya’know?

Bryan Fury

Fury is one weird-looking asshole. He’s either undead or a genetic military experiment. Apparently he developed something called the perpetual generator for use in battle, but he didn’t get to test it out in the last tournament. We don’t know what that contraption is, but we’re pretty sure it disobeys the law of thermodynamics. And we are not comfortable with that at all.

the only reason why soul caliber took characters from other games because of SC2, was multi-platform,spawn-xbox, link-gamecube,the reason why 2 tekken people were in playstion:1 couldn't find any other good fighting game for playstation, 2 spawn was already taken, 3 tekken was their other game. they did really well with Mishima giving him no weapons respectivly leaving him be...a fighter. (Sorry this stuff irks me)

Sorry about the double post, but it stuck me that Elpork may be the most immature person i've encountered on this site.

I love fighters like these. @sakboy97: Your right, soulcalibur takes fighters from too many other games. They even stole Heihachi. D-Bags.

    Panda is awesome.

@Corsair89 Wait you think*giggles*soul calibur *giggles some more* and street fighter *oh f**k it im dying over here*are better than tekken HA! no competition tekken has original cahacters and soul calibur has characters from other games(link, yoshimitsu, darth vader, etc.)and street fighter is a wannabe 3d fighter game and SF4 is going to blow.

Tekken's awesome! But I dunno if Tekken 6 will be able to hold it's own with Street Fighter IV...

... eh, that doesn't add up.

DISOBEYING THE LAWS OF THERMODYNAMICS *GASP!* HOLY SUPER COOLED BOSONS BAITMAN!

Tekken outclassing Soulcalibur and Street Fighter? I doubt it. But still, it looks impressive. @DontPanic: I dont get it either. It makes about as much sense as people shooting fireballs with their bare hands... Wait...

I still cant understand the whole bear thing... Oh well, nice article.

Never realy played any street fighter so i can't say a thing about it, except it looks fun. Soul Calibur and Tekken are made by the same company so they are equal, and each of these games have been out for ever! I still remeber when I was 3 when tekken came out, then soul blade(the first soul calibur before Dreamcast) good times goooood times....

You would be an idiot to try and compare Tekken/Soul Caliber/Street Fighter. If anything, you should compare this Tekken to it's previous generations, which from the looks of it is going to be much superior overall. Always been a fan of this game, and I'm looking forward to it.

Man, I used to love Tekken back in the day, but it's just *old* now. The mechanics just don't grab me, and the character designs are just boring compared to SC4 or SF4 (except for the silly ones, which are just silly).
  • SkullSplitter - February 13, 2009 9:44 a.m.

You forgot so many character! As you said in this article there are 42 characters and you talked about 8. Tell me you're going to make a part 2 :/ Oh, and I can't wait for this game.
  • J-spit - February 13, 2009 8:50 a.m.

I'm a fighter junkie. Tekken, SF4, and MK vs DCU are on my list. They can keep SC4.
  • adk323 - February 13, 2009 4:47 a.m.

    Looks pimp, dont see Christie.
