The Walking Dead: "Humanity Lies In The Balance"

It's all happiness and joy in the second half of The Walking Dead 's fourth season... Just kidding!

The Walking Dead reached the halfway point of its fourth season on something of a downer, with [SPOILER ALERT!] Rick and his fellow survivors forced to abandon their prison home, and the Governor dead. It seems, though, that the misery isn't over yet. “This season, humanity lies in the balance," says executive producer Gale Anne Hurd, "both from the inhuman threat of the walkers as well as the very human threats posed by other survivors.”

Fans of the comic series can expect some of the show’s newer characters to grow in importance, particularly Bob Stookey (played by Lawrence Gilliard Jr). Robert Kirkman, creator of the original comic, says, “He’s kind of a linchpin to a lot of the storytelling and a lot of the storylines that [happened] early in the season, and his role will kind of emerge. You’ll get a bigger picture of who he is and what he’s been up to this entire time.”

Other new characters from the comics are soon to arrive too, with Rosita Espinoza (played by Christian Serratos) set to be introduced in the season’s second half. “We’re introducing her into the show in a somewhat different way than in the comics. As we get deeper into season four you start to see some hints as to what we’re doing and why we’re bringing her in,” Kirkman explains.
