6. Kudara, Otogi: Myth of Demons (Xbox, 2003)

Dreamy Xbox slasher Otogi: Myth of Demons is a magic moment from start to too-early finish, pulling some pretty impressive bosses out of its Japanese mythology grab-bag on the way.

While not quite as daunting as the nailed-down Demon God, it's the early encounter with a monstrous electrically-charged centipede, Kudara, that was truly a boss with the Power of X.

Above: It's the boss equivalent of a game of chicken - don't slash until you see the whites of his tonsils.

Encircling his Zen garden graveyard like a homicidal Slinky, the only way to bring Kudara down is by timing a last-minute dive out of the way of his jaws and slapping him upside the head - usually resulting in a shower of lightning for your troubles.

Plants vs. zombies dr. Zomboss. Biggest zombie ever in giant robot suit and you half to kill him with watermelons and jalepenos and cabbage and corn and frozen mushrooms.

WTF what about that city sinker from GoW 2? that thing was massive it took me like 30 min just to saw off the arteries around its heart???

to me, it is really lazy to put sotc as number 1. yeah, they were big, but not all of them. and wouldnt Atlas from gow2 be an honourable mention? they should make a list of the biggest colossi in the game!:)

What about Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon? There was one boss so big in that game that you had to find tons of enemies on top of it. It doesn't fit on any screen at all. The boss is HUGE.

woohoo! shadow of the colossus!!! yeah, i always feel guilty after killing a colossus... except the last one, he was just just an evil bastard. but where was kingdom hearts in this list for darkness(that giant heartless u fight at the start and the end of the game) and the huge heartless monster that ansem transforms into at the end?

I'm glad god of war got on the list but they should have put the minoture machine thing in the temple I kept my ps2 because of shadow colosus

I never had the pleasure of playing shadow of the colossus. For some reason i never got around to playing it. I'm kind of regretting it after seeing that massive colossus.
