4. Love in an elevator (Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix - 2001 - PSone)
This was the one that set the console world on fire. Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix might have been a so-so follow-up to the stylish, cel-shaded horror adventure Fear Effect, but it had something its predecessor didn't - a love scene for its tough-as-nails sex bomb heroine, Hana. A love scene with a chick.
End of innocence: It doesn't get much better than this. No, really, it doesn't
Well, it was kind of a love scene, anyway - Hana and her apparent lover Rain staged a make-out in an elevator to distract some horny guards. Still, Hana does get naked (not that you'll see anything), Rain seems to be into it and the couple's cel-shaded necking is pretty hot for what's essentially a blocky cartoon. Factor in that this lesbian relationship got everyone and their dog talking about a PSone adventure game when all eyes were supposed to be on the then-new PlayStation 2, and Fear Effect 2 merits some recognition.
