The Tomb Raider reboot has its bad guy – it’s Justified’s Walton Goggins

The Tomb Raider reboot has its Lara Croft – Alicia Vikander – but other details have been harder to find than sunken Incan treasure. Thankfully, Variety have dug up just who will be playing the villain opposite Alicia Vikander in the 2018 reboot – and it’s character actor Walton Goggins.

Variety report that Walton Goggins is in final negotiations to appear in the movie, scheduled for release on March 16, 2018.

Goggins has previous for playing the weird, the wonderful, and the downright menacing across both TV and movies. His run on FX’s Justified arguably stole the show and his previous appearances in Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight, and Sons of Anarchy, has clearly increased his stock further.

Just look at his sinister face. That's a proper bad guy.

The Tomb Raider reboot, directed by Norwegian Roar Uthaug (probably the coolest name ever), will focus on the search for Lara’s father. It will be the first time the British archaeologist/adventurer has been seen on screen in 15 years, following Angelina Jolie’s two early-00s movies.
