The Rock fights drug dealers in the new trailer for Snitch: watch now

A new trailer has arrived online for crime thriller Snitch , in which Dwayne Johnson’s average Joe finds himself going undercover in order to expose a gang of violent drug dealers.

Johnson plays a father whose teenage son finds himself in hot water with the law when he takes the fall for a major drug operation. Facing ten years in prison, it doesn’t look good for the boy until his old man steps in.

Striking a deal with the US attorney (Susan Sarandon), Johnson agrees to go undercover as an informant within the cartel in question. But can he do enough to save his son without blowing his cover?

Take a look below…

Apparently based on “true events”, this one looks like a pleasingly taut thriller, with the unlikely screen pairing of The Rock and Susan Sarandon balanced out by the likes of Michael Kenneth Williams, seen here referring to “the game” like Omar Little in his prime.

Directed by Ric Roman Waugh and co-starring Nadine Velazquez, Harrold Perrineau and Barry Pepper, Snitch will open in the US on 22 February 2013, with a UK release to follow shortly after.
