The Preemptive 2011 Game Awards

WINNER: Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds

Guesstimated Award Probability: 94%

It’s hard to imagine that another fighting game will be more loved this year than Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and if you don't understand why, you're probably weird and smell bad. And it's especially hard to imagine a better 2011 fighting game that starts with ‘M,’ because the biggest one we can think of is the runner-up. Know what? Less reading, more listening! Watch us FAP (or... FAV... whatever it is here) to MvC 3 below!

Strong, straightforward 2D fights and more brutal gore than the Mortal Kombat series has ever seen? Does our rhetorical question properly convey how we feel about the game? Do we pose too many rhetorical questions? Probably? Just watch the video.

Holy shit, bro! This game looks badass. It's going to take home a lot of awards this year - I mean, you've got the best multiplayer ever, a crazy good campaign, features that you 'aint never seen bullet-pointed before, a bunch of muscular dudes, a few less-muscular dudes, aliens, soldiers, swearing - all that.

It's a 10/10 for sure, though.

This game looks just as awesome, to be honest. As you can see from the video, there are guns, but it’s also gotmore awesome multiplayer, more really muscular guys, more futuristic futurey stuff, one sort of fat dude who doesn't look like Mark Wahlberg... plus the story was written by the writer of Red Dawn. Also, PS3! And 360. PC.

This joke may have worn thin.

So Oblivion is a really good game, right guys? Well, everyone seems to say so. I played it for a while and it made my computer crash a lot. My computer is kind of crappy. But anyway, this and Skyward Sword are by far the most highly-anticipated fantasy RPGs supposedly coming in 2011.

Will Elder Scrolls V actually be released this year? Maybe! Will it involve names like Dovahkiin and Alduin? Definitely! Also, Alduin is a dragon. An there are kings and swords too! And farming! Like Farmville? Exactly like Farmville!

Now that Elder Scrolls fans are pissed off, here's the teaser again:

Runner-up | Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Less waggle, more slashy slashy! Skyward Sword's use of Wii MotionPlus best work as promised, because Twilight Princess' waggle made our arms sad arms. Speaking of Twilight Princess, we haven't had a proper Zelda console adventure since 2006, so it's about time! (Just kidding, slow and steady - lest you'd like to play a new Call of Zelda every year).

The new visual style is mad Eliot O'Hara (Google him), and if Skyrim wasn't sitting on a throne of hype right now, we'd have pegged Skyward Sword as the winner. Time will tell!
