There’s more snoozing than slashing on offer in this minimalist Spanish serial-killer flick.
It follows Abel (Alex Brendemühl), a seemingly ordinary shop owner who relieves the crushing boredom of his tedious suburban life by occasionally killing people.
Ensuring that his picture is strikingly non-eventful may well be the point, but director Jaime Rosales is a long way from Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer. With zero gore, zero psychological insight and zero social commentary, there’s actually zero reason for watching. Whoever thought murder could be so mundane?
