The evolution of water effects

Splashdown (2001, PS2/Xbox)
This was PS2's first real shot at convincing water effects and it worked. Shame the game itself was so dull. It's also noteworthy for its advertising campaign, which featured two models in wetsuits. When it rained on the billboards, the ink was designed to wash off, leaving them in their skimpy bikinis. Well, it got our attention.

Above: Look at that! The water looks real! Oh, were you looking at something else?
