Okay, the game is awesome - BUT, am I the only one who is annoyed as hell at the three ring combination puzzles? They make no sense, there is no clues anywhere that give a hint of ANY kind as to what the solution might be, and I have run into one in Reachwater Rock where all possible combinations without repeating have failed, so now that leaves like a thousand possible combinations to try at random while I get hit in the ass with Poison arrows. This is one part of the game that makes me want to physically injure whoever at Bethesda green lit that little design flaw. Does anyone have the combination to that last door in Reachwater Rock? I want to play a game, not play random combination math algorithms.

The 3-ring puzzels will not open unless you have the claw that matches it. When you have it, look at it in your inventory. When you go to the graybeards, there is a sidequest in that town that will introduce you to them.

Actually, you get one earlier than the Greybeards. The general trader in Riverwood asks you to recover his "family heirloom" when you get there after the tutorial dungeon.

They were tiresomely annoying to myself as well, however the solution is right there in front of you. When I found out it was a total "Doh" moment for myself. Anyway, you have to have a dragon claw to open the lock, of course, but you then need to open your inventory & zoom in on the palm of the claw(they are located in the Misc. section & to zoom in on any objects you push the right stick in like you do w/ the left stick to sneak).

When I commented on this the 1st time I hadn't read your hole question. Hopefully what I told you will help you with future Nordic Door Puzzle locks(think that's what they're called). Anyway you now get it that you hold the clue in your hand, however if the ring configuration on the claw doesn't open the door it's probably the wrong claw(there's about as many claws as there are regular gem types[like there's only an emerald claw, not an emerald & a flawless emerald claw for example] & forging materials minus leather, steel[not sure bout this 1], corrundium & iron[not sure bout this 1 either]. So if the claw your holding doesn't open the door, go home & get all your claws(hopefully you didn't sell any, but I think they only work on 1 door) & try the configuration on each. If none of the claws work w/ the configurations then you have 1 of 2 things going on: either you haven't found the correct claw yet(like I said there's like 10 or more, but the Gold 1 from Riverwood definately only works in the quest surrounding it) or you've got yourself 1 of those fabulous game gliches that Bethesda loves 2 throw @ you w/ their really awesome games. Good luck

So, when are you guys gonna do an article on the issues the PS3 version is having? Seriously, the official forums are already lit up for Christmas over there.
