The Dark Knight Rises prologue will be screened in just five UK cinemas

A synopsis of the prologue sequence from The Dark Knight Rises has just been leaked online , but those who want to see the preview in all its big-screen glory will have just five UK locations to choose from.

The first six minutes of official footage will precede screenings of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol at Bradford's National Media Museum, Glasgow's Science Centre, London's BFI IMAX, London's Science Museum and Manchester's ODEON IMAX.

The preview is restricted to 70mm projection IMAX cinemas rather than their digital counterparts, which explains the limited release.

However, if you can’t get yourself along to any of the above, you’ll be able to console yourself with the first full-length trailer, which will precede screenings of Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows in cinemas nationwide.

The trailer will appear in UK screens when Sherlock Holmes lands on 16 December 2011, while the preview scene will arrive ten days later, when Mission: Impossible is released on Boxing Day.
