The Evil Dead caused a stir at the time of its release for pushing the horror genre further than it had been before with scenes of extreme gore. The film used make-up and effects to shock audiences and fans of the original will be pleased to know that the new version also uses make-up and effects rather than relying heavily on CGI.

Evil Dead , the new terrifying new version of the horror classic, hits UK cinemas on 19 April. It stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas and is directed by Fede Alvarez.
