The 43 character cameos of Marvel vs Capcom 3

Thor's ultra-brief ending still manages to reference another Asgardian - Heimdall, a warrior with vision that stretches across time and space.

Tron Bonne quickly moves in on Mega Man Volnutt after winning the day, as we hear she's got something of a robo-crush on him (he's not playable, but he was in 2010's Wii-only Tatsunoko vs Capcom). Tron thinks she can finally secure a date with Mega Man via her new pal...

... Sentinel the Servbot! I really love her mischevious glare, staring down at Mega Man with playfully evil glee.

C Viper, first introduced in Street Fighter IV, gets her superhuman abilities from her various techno-suit enhancements. Makes sense then that Nick Fury would pay her a visit and ask her to join SHIELD. But wait a sec - that's Ultimate Nick Fury! They're crossing the continuity streams with this reference. Surprised Marvel was cool with Sam Jackson Fury replacing "regular" Fury in a game that tends to ignore the Ultimate Universe.

Zero asks Silver Surfer for a lift home, but he takes him to "Mega Man Zero's" homeworld, not "Zero's" homeworld. Surfer then rightfully expresses his confusion at this mess of universes. A surprisingly honest ending!

Dormammu conspires with fellow evil people in his ending, including playable characters Akuma and Wesker, but also Lord Raptor from Darkstalkers and Firebrand/Red Arremer from the Ghosts 'n Goblins universe.

Speaking of GnG, the game's primary villain, the two-headed Astaroth, appears in the background of the zombie-infested level. There are plenty of other GnG references in there, including Red Arremer and the instantly recognizable zombies.

A Resident Evil-minded level houses cameos from Lickers as well as RE1 end boss Tyrant.

The Daily Bugle level contains several shoutouts (including a billboard for Nelson & Murdock), but at the tip top of the skyline you can see the Baxter Building in the background (where the Fantastic Four are sitting, wondering why they're never in any cool games) plus J. Jonah Jameson zipping by in a news helicopter. He's tiny, but it's definitely him.

I'm... fairly sure that's all of them. Could be more. If you spot any, let me know in the comments, and more importantly, dive into the game and see what team of three works for you!

Not a great power if you want to hurt someone? Urm, Dazzler shoots lasers, has punched through mountains with her photons, creates energy weapons and recently nuked Psylocke's face... That aside, ya know, thanks for posting the cameos. LOL

I want to believe that with this game increasing the awareness of the Mega Man Legends universe, that we might see a third in the series come to light. Capcom? Oh, and Nightcrawler needs to become a playable DLC.

would love to see a judge dredd/judge death camo, mabey dredd aprehending one of the villans who excaped to his universe, or death encountering deadpool or wolverine, but struggles to kill them due to there healing factors

@Corn Fuuuu I knew that! I even had the screen taken and forgot to include it in the article. As for @mattdark's pointing out of Teisel and Bon Bonne... well done! I admittedly know little of the Legends world, so I did indeed miss those.

I'm pretty sure Poison is in the "Metro City" stage, my apologies if someone has already mentioned this.

Thanks for posting these because I don't think I would finish the story that amount of times to just see the different endings
  • mattdark - February 18, 2011 7:29 a.m.

Surprised you didnt mention Tron Bonnes brothers Teisel and Bon Bonne, who sit right in the background of one stage, along with a bunch of Servebots, and the Bonne's ship flying around occasionally.

If Daredevil is prosecuting Wesker, why does it matter if he knows Wesker is evil?
  • Robusken - February 18, 2011 6:16 a.m.

Some of these cameos just make me a sad panda, they could have been in here instead of having cameos! Whine whine whine. I really do enjoy the crossover endings though.

I'm sure there are more cameos in morrigan's ending, but iut's hard to see - is that Satanna in there? Damien Hellstrom? more random demons nobody remembers?
  • LBD_Nytetrayn - February 18, 2011 3:44 a.m.

I believe that the regular 616 universe version of Nick Fury sometimes uses the Samuel L. Jackson look as a disguise. He's done it at least once, anyway. And, of course, the current Avengers toon and the recent movies have been doing the same, so it makes some sense. Not like any of this is canon to anything, anyway, right?
  • GorditaSlim - February 18, 2011 3:27 a.m.

I love that they use these cameos to include characters who couldn't make the roster. I want to play it so bad! Curse being so poor!
  • Corsair89 - February 18, 2011 3:24 a.m.

Well, that's one way to get Phoenix and Edgeworth into MvC3...
  • DontMessWithMeImRunningOutOfPlacesToHideTheBodies - February 18, 2011 2:40 a.m.

I hope they keep the cameos coming...with more levels. Seriously there's only like 10 levels in the game.
  • NightCrawler_358 - February 18, 2011 2:28 a.m.

I love all these cameos, they make me feel so smart! Also, what you said about Nightcrawler making 2 cameos and possibly being a DLC really brightened my day. I hope he will, hes perfect for it, and everybody loves him! Great game, it's been a while since I've been so hooked on a fighting game!
  • Corn - February 18, 2011 2:04 a.m.

Dan is in the second screen of the Sent ending.
