Tetris DS

Other throwback titles make blocky appearances too, such as Zelda, Mario and everyone's favorite, Balloon Fight. Each variation uses the pieces in a slightly different way, so while you're essentially still clearing the screen, the scenery and gameplay keep things moderately fresh. Touch mode even lets you plop the blocks down at your own pace, a far cry from the series' standard, "plan perfectly or die" methods.

It's a little hard to get excited about yet another version of this well-covered series, but its Nintendo wallpaper and online capabilities should be just enough for a million or so DS owners to give the game another shot. Tetris is still simple fun, perfectly suited to a portable.
