TalkRadar UK 94 - Tree-mendous

Listen now...

Woo hoo! A new podcast. Specifically a brand new TalkRadar UK for your Audio In devices (read: ears) and this week is packed with the laser-targeted gaming chatter that we've become famed for. But enough of the lies, what have we got in store for you this week you've no doubt wondered and then skipped past all this text nonsense to listen in already.

You're not even reading this bit are you. BANG! And the caps has brought you back in because you thought something interesting was being said. We digress. Is it hot in here? MUMMY!

The men put Infamous 2's plot to the curb and stomp down on it with their heavy critical boots and discuss the positives on Duke Nukem Forever. There's a forgotten PS2 classic in the Appreciation Section, a few interesting answers to Question of the Week - What is your favourite gaming tree and why? -  and find out how Cundy ended up flat on his back at the bottom of a set of stairs in London.

All this and a host of human interest stories that lift the veil on Dave, Nate and Cundy like that bit where you find out the Wizard of Oz is really a puny little man. Should maybe have put a spoiler warning there. Anyways, come on in for some soothing gaming chatter.

Above: The Cornish developer releases another smash hit. With a bald space marine as a lead how can it fail?

Above: More frightening, we've been threatened with parts of tingle until Alkhen gets their USB stick. Ouch

Mooshon

Above: Cundy's in The Shamen. Naughty, naughty, verrrrrrrrry naughty

And yes Nath, I 100% agree we should do another social gathering, like on a monthly basis. I can recommend a few good pubs in London, etc.

Yay, my name was mentioned, +10 fame. ^_^
  • Mooshon - June 24, 2011 2:19 p.m.

@NathanIrvine - concur. Was a nice little social that so should definitely happen again... once more at least. It would be good to have greater numbers though and a larger drink/game ratio this time. I'll bring the tequila n poppers. I vote for Grimsby. Who's with me?!

Loving The Shamen photoshop, Anybody got any Veras?

Nice answers to question of the week. I also just finished Deadly Premonition last week and it was partly due to Dave that I ended up buying it (for 8 quid off Amazon) only to realise it's absolutely, ridiculously, basically, literally and essentially amazing. Get past the graphics, controls, and wall-crawling monstrosities and it has one of the best narratives I've ever experienced in a game, while Francis York Morgan is one of the most well written characters of all time.

come on now duke nukem is fuking horrible, you shouldnt justify a 40 quid game that is that bad, i dont like to switch off a game that ive started but i make a huge exception for this, i just wanted it to end, or go back in time and never play it. It felt like a 12 year old game, i would have had more fun playing doom 1. This is the best review ive seen for Duke nukem fuking never ! http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/3581-Duke-Nukem-Forever-for-real-this-time

@Garnsr I didn't name check you specifically but you gave me some decent fodder for the podcast. Thanks very much for snapping me back into reality with your PSN message that reminded me about the lack of trophies in Saints Row 2.
  • garnsr - June 23, 2011 10:53 p.m.

Was everybody at the Child of Eden thing there for TRUK? How long has the thing been open? Did my comment to Nathan while he was playing Saint's Row 2 spark the comment that it had no trophies on the podcast?
  • ColinKapow - June 23, 2011 5:36 p.m.

Those shots the GR crew were drinking through straws were intriguing, Cundy seemed to approve anyway
  • garnsr - June 23, 2011 4:17 p.m.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cundy managed to end up flat on his back at the top of a set of stairs. He's just that kind of guy.

  • ithurtstopoop - June 23, 2011 1 p.m.
