TalkRadar 17

TalkRadar welcomes its very first industry guest this week, Mr. Seth Killian of Capcom fame. He’s involved with all things community, primarily at the Capcom Unity blog and jaw-droppingly hardcore Evo tournaments. Far more interesting than that, however, are his tales of Street Fighter hustling at arcades, infiltrating E3 and harassing the company enough to finally give him a job. See kids, you too can live the dream.

So yeah, he’s got a lot to say, plus we talk dogs, the week’s releases (Viva Pinata, suckers!) and true tales of controller smashing. Yes, it actually happens.

Explicit Content Within! Persons with delicate ears should definitely not listen, as they will hear edgy no-no words freely spoken on South Park and HBO.

Top 7... canine companions  - gaming’s best dogs. Yes, we’re serious.

Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise – raising papery animals is serious business

Spore – it came out this week. So anyway...

Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe – after several harsh words for MK, Seth admits MKvDCU might be slightly okay-ish

Street Fighter IV – if you’re not excited about it yet, maybe you’re dead and need to call an ambulance to haul your dead ass to the graveyard

Art of the infinite combo – despite being fun to watch, they’re a pain in the ass and Seth’s not having any part of ‘em. Hear why...

10 LEGO games we’d love to see – Mikel spent two weeks making this, so read it four or five times

Destroying controllers in slow-motion – if we were made of plastic, this video would be impossible to watch. It’s somehow grotesque even when the subjects are inanimate casings.

Quote of the week:
“If [Spore] gets its cock-fangs into me, I’ll have no time to play anything else”

Above: The review code was trapped inside! How inhumane

Above: A bevy of tech hurdles kept PC editor T-Nag from appearing on the podcast

Above: Chris pays his rent in CASH

Above: Seth was promised a speedy podcast that ended before nightfall. Um, don’t turn around...

Above: Our building is weird

If it was up to me, I would lock you lot in a cellar, feed you beer and force you to make a 24/7 radio show.

First muscle fuck and now sperm burn. Just splendid. This podcast was a real treat for the Capcom fans. Actually, most of these podcasts are a real treat. Keep 'em coming. Whatever is that upbeat, 8-bit sounding tune that the casts start with? It's been bothering me for a while, now.

looking at that second picture I realize why Mikel was talking so little... he had dislocated his jaw, poor guy... xD
  • GamesRadarChrisAntista - September 6, 2008 2:29 a.m.

I should clarify... that's my rent money. During it's scant few hours from bank to landlord, the podcast was the most fun its ever had

  • Tasty_Pasta - September 5, 2008 9:38 p.m.

This is good enough to take me away from the Socom Beta. That's how awesome it is.
  • GamesRadarChrisAntista - September 8, 2008 10:22 p.m.

The opening is from Charlie Brown's All-Stars. The voice of Snoopy died this week... I was sad. Again, if you really wanna know what the music is, head over to the forums. If no one else can tell you, I certainly will.

  • Johnny6Gun - September 7, 2008 3:27 a.m.

It's from a Charlie Brown television special. Not one of the mainstream ones like the X-Mas special, Great Pumpkin, Thanksgiving or Race For Your Life, but one I haven't seen for a while. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
  • fffliiippper - September 7, 2008 12:42 a.m.

  • NintendoNerd655 - September 6, 2008 1:12 p.m.

Brett you feel the same way I do about Half-Life 2 lol. Another great podcast!
