compare this thing to must ultra books and you will find it is competitively priced, ones with similar ram and processing power to the pro edge go for about 1200$-1400$ and they usually do not have a dedicated gpu in them. that said however the game pad dock thing costing 250$ is unacceptable that is a crazy high price for something that would be required to make use of the main function of this thing. (gaming)

I have yet to use it myself but there are several things I really do not like the sound of. Most of all, the way it is going to try and turn my powerful desktop system into a really big phone that can't make any calls or be moved around.
I would assume that there is not going to be the option to boot into the desktop and instead I will have to manually perform this action each and every boot. That alone would annoy the hell out of me.

For the anti apple troll guy, have you ever even OWNED anything apple? That is...are you simply speaking out of your ass or do you actually have ANY expierence with the products that you just know in your bones are bad?
I grew up on PCs and thought that apple was just a bunch of hype, etc. Then, I started with an Ipod for my kids, now we have 5 or 6 Ipods and the New Ipad in my house. The next computer I buy will most likely be a new mac book, thats how impressive their products are. Also, they all link up with Itunes very easily, its very convienient. While I realize "that's how they get you" because its all only with Itunes, when the products/service is great...it makes it ok.
They are awesome products period. When you grow up junior and actually buy the things you have you will find out what the phrase "You get what you pay for" really means. Is there some price inflation in apple products? Sure, but guess what? Thats what a company can do when it commands a premium product that people are willing to pay for.

If this device (which is what people are TALKING ABOUT) has the specs they quote and is on par with an ultrabook then there will be no competition, provided the price is right. The whole idea of Windows8 being a split OS is exactly for this reason, cross platform operation.
And the reason for replying, APPLE.
Apple, IPOD did not invent mp3, nor have anything to do with its popularity. I owned a 20gb portable mp3/divx player before ipod was even released. Apple just use other peoples work/hardware and make you pay over the odds for it.
Just because something "Works" doesnt make it good. All apple products are low-end, overpriced, old components put in a shiny plastic box. I dont care if you have 3 kids and 72 ipads, the device is designed for retards to use so they cant break it. If you want to actually "USE" a pc/laptop then apple is the worst idea imaginable.
Also ITunes is effectively a virus. You cannot do anything with apple unless you go through their memory-leaking, bloatware rubbish frontend which needs a 2 hour update every other week so they can sow your lips to the ass of a japanese man and feed him cuttlefish.
Buy apple, eat cuttlefish.
