I for one am very psyched for this. I am one of those people that didn't really grow up on the 2D sonic games, and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle was the first game I bought for myself on my Gamecube.
The way Sonic Adventure played was so much more exciting than the newer 3D installments (That includes Generations) I just feel that with the skills you could learn and so forth it inspired exploration and made me want to go through the levels several times to try and achieve a high-score. Achieving an "A" in a level was an accomplisment rather than a given for not messing up your run of a stage.
Last but not least is the Chao garden. It is probably one of the sole reasons that I went through the same stages in sonic HUNDREDS of times. I was rewarded with not just a token, but with things I could use to upgrade my cutesy and incredibly diverse critters. To not bring this back into a game is a dang-near crime.
So hearing of this rumor does have me excited. Let's just hope that if they decide to work on it they do it right.
