    The puzzle piece system sounds a lot like the manga panel deck system from the Nintendo published, japan only, super smash bros. style fighting game Jump Ultimate Stars. My friend imported it and I borrowed it. It really sucks that it wasn't released here because it was really awesome. The decks were made up of differently sized and shaped panels that you put together on the bottom screen. The biggest panels were playable characters, followed by assists, then perks. The biggest panels of all were super versions of each character and much harder to unlock. It turned out to be a very fun and unique system.
