A FPS remake of Super Mario World or Super Mario Bros 3. I picture the game being a little more like Mirrors Edge though, Mario can still jump up and hit blocks to brake or open them to get what is inside but depending on if he is super or not determines how high he can jump. If he is short he may miss but he can to pull himself up if he is close enough like in Mirrors Edge. On slopes he'll slide down instead of crouching, kicking or triping any enemy in his way. When he has the Fire Flower you see his palm faceing out and the fireballs forming and shooting out as you aim at anything (same with the Hammers in SMB3 though they will be thrown at an arc). With the cap (Tanooki Suit) you will still run to fly, but in the air with the cap, you can see a mark to show where you will land if you divebomb. To hit guys with the Cap(Tanooki Suit), a red square pops up on them when they get close enough to hit, showing when to spin before getting hit. You could also just spam the spin and go hit everything in your way but your vision gets blurry after a while and when Mario stops, his vision gets skewed and movement gets erratic.

Ok one of my all time favorite bosses is fighting the Argus Robot during the first Act of Vanquish. The game is already crazy enough with Space Russians and this badass suit, when you find and fight this huge transformer robot unleashing hell on you at. All the while you try to find a place for attack and to regenerate health. And missing its missiles using AR mode (slows down time) was insane and made me go "Oh shit, Oh shit" over and over while playing against it. Then after a satisfying explosion the game moves on like it was no big deal.

Ganondorf from OoT. After deciding to replay all the zeldas i decided to do something special for OoT so I decided to try and speed run it. After a lot of practice i can now do it in about an hour and a half (which is nowhere near the record, but still fun to do). Now i can beat Ganondorf in under twenty seconds. Since now i can demolish a boss who i have been battling with varying degrees of grief since I have been seven I get a sense of accomplishment never felt before. :D

My favorite boss fight would prolly be fighting Mr. Freeze in New Game + mode of Batman: Arkham City. While it was extremely difficult, at no other time does Batman come off as more of a badass then when he beats up Mr. Freeze with about 12 different moves, not repeating any of them. This fight really showed the versatility of the game's combat and made me think about fighting like I hadn't before, while hiding and constantly being hunted while also hunting. The perfect combination of tension, action, and creativity.

I know its not the scariest of the games but in Resident Evil 4 I had my favorite scary moment in any game and it was a totally random moment that just happened in game, no cutscene or pre-rendered video, just regular encounter. It was ether my third or fourth time though the game, on another new game+ because I just felt like rolling though the game quick while some friends watched in a dark room, the way the game is meant to be played. I had just gotten to the labs where the re-generators start to pop up. They are kinda freaky as is but I have a fully leveled Auto Sniper with the infrared scope to make them less then a challenge. On ether the second or third re-generator that came up, I ran to the far end of the short hall so I could line up my shot. I took out its limbs and took its head clean off. I walked up to hit it with the shotgun to get the last weak spot on its back. Because it has no head, arms and legs and was laying on the ground I didn't think much of it when... OH GOD IT JUMPED ON MY FACE AND IS NOMMING ME WITH THE LOWER BEHEADED PART OF ITS JAW!!!!!! OH GOD IS THAT ITS TONGUE FLOPING AROUND!?!?!?! HOW IS IT DOING THIS!?!?!?!?! KILL IT!!!! KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!! I threw it off me, shot it with everything I had and probably threw some grenades at its dead body. I paused into the case screen while everyone in the room hid under a blanket and I rearranged the items in the case, cause that's what I did in that game before, during and after stressful parts of that game to calm me down (The game made me OCD, and I had the best lookin case ever). I looked at it again before it despawned and it still had no limbs or head, how the hell could it jump onto my face and nom me with no face is beyond me, and still haunts my dreams to this day. So yes games have scared me.

Wolfenstein 3D. A friend had it on a computer in his basement. I slept over and snuck downstairs to play it after everyone went to sleep. After getting through some levels I would get nervous and scared from the dogs and enemies spitting out phrases in a language I didn't understand. Even BJ's face scared me as I took tons of damage to reveal a defeated bloody mess of a face.

Nathan Drake. He goes through many difficult situations, even when he was shot he managed to get out of a train wagon in the cliff, and survive in a desert without water, and there is a lot more bad things that happened to him, and he managed to get out of the bad situations. Even after the bad things that happened to him he still beat the bad guys.

I think GTA: San Andreas could make a great flick. You pull out the player freedom and mindless murdering and cop killing and you've got a great plot about struggling to survive, and make your neighborhood safe through power of your gang while trying to dispose of the corrupt officer tenpenny. Underdog story and organized crime, like peanutbutter and jelly.

This is bizarre, but I have always wanted to see a space opera miniseries based in the 'Freespace' universe. Television CGI effects are at the point where it would be economically feasible (see Battlestar Galactica), and the thought of a meaty, dramatic war series between the Shivans and the (eventual) Terran-Vasudan alliance...it gives me the shudders.

I'd say To the Moon because it's beautiful story of sadness and humor would mix perfectly with Inception level movie effects, I would also love to see an English actor play Dr. Watts and perform the NASA school presentation word for word, it would keep me laughing for the rest of the movie.

Mutant Chronicles: Doom Troopers It's been a while, but I still have very vivid and bad memories about this SNES game when I played it back when i was probably around 8-9 years old. I had rented it mainly because of the cool sounding name, but I had no idea about anything else about the game. But what I saw when I started playing it, was the most unpleasant, disgusting, dark looking game I had seen at the time, and it left a really bad taste and impression in my mouth. And it wasn't that it was gory, but that it was just ugly looking, the enemy and character design was unpleasant to see, and most of all, the first boss was a thin yellow looking monster standing on top of a pile of bones that puked green slime at you. Again, at the time and being a little kid, I found it really repulsive, and it's the most distinct memory I have of a game back from when I was a kid that I've disliked.

you guys crapped on dishonored SO HARD. and you're wrong. or boring. or your brain is broken. either way i suppose you're entitled to your opinion. but your still wrong. it's a good game :p as a writer/creator of stories, i am horrified that you guys didn't even explore the books and other text in the game. it helps flesh out the world in ways they couldn't stick into fully playable parts. you guys know that, you know how studio timelines are. this is a game site right? pfft! i guess it'll just be one of those games you'll wish you played 10 years from now, when people are reminiscing about it. or not, because your brains are broken. Mine would have to be Pokémon Snap for the N64. When I was a kid I played it for hours on end trying to make Articuno wake up and other pointless tasks in the pursuit of capturing ‘em all. Just recently I re purchased Pokémon snap hoping to capture a time pre responsibilities, and wow is it bad. I will excuse the graphics but the game play feels like your controlling a chipmunk with a camera and a speed addiction. Trying to take a good picture of the Doduo in the first level is insane as you snap a 20 picture collage of its behind as it flails away from you. Maybe my skills have deteriorated over time but I was still super surprised or how bad that game really is, I’ll still play it though just for laughs.

Assassin Creed, the first one, because much like Mikel Reparaz(and his conquistor killing Aztec face) I thought that game was worthy of a 10 after spending 20 hours straight with a buddy of mine playing the game until 5 in the morning just so we could beat and get kicked in the nuts by the cliffhanger ending. But many was that great game, you know until Ubisoft made Assasin Creed 2, Ass Creed Bro Ho, and Ass Creed Remix. Oh, and Assasins Creed 3... but yeah totally a 10...

I remember renting Faceball 2000 on the SNES. I wasn't a PC gamer at the time, and while the PC had Wolfenstein and Doom, for me it was the first time I was seeing a game world in a first-person perspective. Even though the game was little more than a simple deathmatch in a maze, and the characters were just goofy smilies, I had so much fun just hiding in the maze, waiting to ambush someone as they went by my secret hidey-hole. Although I never owned the game for the SNES, I eventually ended up buying it for Game Boy, which to me felt even more incredible. Having this fully 3D first person game on a handheld system was so cool. I took the game with me everywhere, and played it all of the time. I can still hear the music for this game in my head, and it will honestly probably stay with me for the rest of my life.

QotW: I am surprised that the early origins of man have not been very well explored. Imagine Bethesda creating an Elder Scrolls open-world adventure where you play as a caveman emerging from his cave and venturing out into a wild untamed world. Instead of dragons you would encounter dinosaurs, discover fire, domesticate mammoths, war with other paleolithic tribes, fall in love by clubbing a potential spouse in the head and dragging them back to your cave! DLC potential too! Travel through time by becoming frozen in ice and experience important parts in homo sapien development such as helping to write the Hammurabi law, creating the Rosetta Stone, helping aliens build stone henge, becoming the spokes person for an insurance company. There's a lot of potential in our hairy ancestors...and be honest, who wouldn't want to mount a mammoth and rampage it into a small village?

For this week's question, I say The Avengers would make a great JRPG. I know they haven't yet made a game, but that's because they couldn't figure out a way to really make it work (and there was that abandoned first-person game). There was Marvel Ultimate Alliance and the old X-men Legends games, but I could never get into those. All the characters mechanics were way too simplified making the large casts feel completely generic. Though I know it wouldn't have mass appeal, I think the characters and setting would work great in a traditional JRPG formula.

Since I took the effort to look at all the comments to see if mine was mentioned, and thankfully it is no, I gotta say the Uncharted series. I mean it's got all the things I love in them animes, strong charming lead, beautiful, yet strong, women, and ACTION! Gosh what could be better than watching Drake-KUN (UGHHH) fist fight highly stylized opponents in tropical locations. Figuring out the shooting mechanic would be weird, possibly having branches specializing in certain weapons, armed and unarmed. The game would either have to play like FFXIII or even just simple turned based, and then after the fight, breaks to standard running on a map and platforming. I dunno listening to Ramble On by Led Zeppelin as I write this, but it sounds cool! Anyways, good job on this podcast guys! Always looking forward to listening to it and I do follow on twitter haha.

A janitorial themed mini-game collection for the Wii U in which you must wipe everything in a middle school using the touch screen before a constantly ticking timer leading to the hour in which school starts reaches zero. It would be frantic and fun theoretically, but actual playing would reveal a layer of hopelessness and depression that you were unaware that you could reveal, but now wish you could get away from.

Thanks for reading my response last week but Megas is about a mech from the future found by a red neck nerd who rebuilds it with a muscle car for a head fighting aliens, television eating planets, and beating on Bruce Campbell as a MODOK style dead. Not whatever you were talking about. For this weeks' QOTW: Always have Bayonetta's butt or boobs (your choice) center screen on the game pad to poke at anytime you need to.
